When it comes to diet during diarrhea, I think many people do not pay much attention to what they eat if diarrhea is their only symptom. However, when abdominal pain is present, people often choose foods such as rice porridge, jelly, and sports drinks like Pocari Sweat. They also tend to avoid tough meats and high-fiber vegetables because these can sometimes make diarrhea worse, especially when the abdominal pain is severe.
If they develop a fever or are unable to eat or drink, many people will visit a clinic for medical attention.
In Japanese hospitals, patients who are hospitalized for digestive diseases usually start with soft, puree-like meals and gradually progress to regular solid foods. In addition, patients hospitalized for digestive illnesses are generally not allowed to eat snacks unless they have permission from their doctor. In most cases, doctors do not give permission until the patient's condition has improved.
If diarrhea occurs as a temporary symptom of another illness, snack restrictions are usually not imposed. However, many patients tend to eat only soup or fruit and leave the rest of their meals unfinished.
This is just my personal opinion and experience, so please take it only as a reference. 😊
