Hi, I’m Miyati! I’m a registered mechanical engineer from the Philippines, where English is our second language. I taught myself both English and Japanese (I reached around N4–N3 level a few years ago), so I know firsthand how challenging—and rewarding—self-learning can be.
During the COVID pandemic, I spent a lot of my free time studying languages, especially in university. It was genuinely fun. I learned a lot about Japan by listening to Japanese podcasts made for learners, and I also practiced by talking to Japanese people through mobile apps.
I used to spend most of my free time playing games like League of Legends and Tekken. These days, my hobbies have shifted more toward gardening, reading non-fiction, watching cartoons, and cycling—though I can still play games really well. I also used to exercise a lot, and I still enjoy watching online videos and listening to music for entertainment.
All of these experiences inspired me to keep improving my English. When you know English well, you can learn content from anywhere in the world—not just from your own country. Since English is widely used as a global language, learning it can open up so many opportunities.
I’m patient, and I truly believe anyone can learn anything with the right support. I’ll respect your pace, and I’d love to help you become more confident and skilled in English. Let’s make learning fun together!
